ADHD Parent Workshop a Huge Success

Wednesday, June 14th was the last of our 4 part workshop series for the parents of children with ADHD. Over 30 families attended the workshop where they learned more about ADHD and practical, do-able strategies to use at home with their children. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive and parents left equipped with new tactics to support their child's development.

This was the second such workshop we have held for parents, the first workshop addressed anxiety in children and received a similar success. As we are always pursing excellence in care we know the necessity of supporting Early Mental Health in our region. Workshops such as these allow for parents to address concerns and learn the skills necessary to advocate for their children. We will be offering future parent workshops and if you would like to be notified of upcoming ones please email us at info@osns.org. Workshops are available to all members of the community and your child does not need to attend OSNS.

Dr. Jodi Morris and our Executive Director Manisha Willms hosted the workshop. A highlight of the series was the breathing exercise introduced at the beginning of sessions using the Hoberman Sphere, pictured below. The exercise, although simple in concept and execution, allowed parents to personally experience the positive results of a specific strategy.
