Three Okanagan Valley Kettlebell athletes have some heavy competition in their future, as they compete for Team Canada at the 2015 International Union of Kettlebell Lifting World Championships in Dublin, Ireland this November. As they prepare for this journey ahead, they generously took some time to give back to their community while helping to raise funds for their upcoming competition.
On August 22, members of the Okanagan Valley Kettlebells hosted a booth at the Downtown Penticton Market, raising funds and awareness of their sport and their upcoming World Championship jouney. By holding a raffle, the team donated $150 of funds raised to the OSNS Child and Youth Development Centre - a cause that the team feels very strongly about. Athlete, Kathryn Golbeck, is a special education teacher and has witnessed firsthand how the OSNS benefits children and families in the community.
From the 700 current children who use the Centre, and all the staff who call the OSNS home, we thank you for your generosity, and wish your team all the best as you represent Team Canada at the World Championships!
