ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and relationship-driven Foundation & Community Engagement Specialist to join our team.

Reporting to the Executive Director, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing strategy with hands-on execution. You will play a key role in strengthening community connections, leading fundraising initiatives, and enhancing the visibility and impact of both OSNS and the OSNS Legacy Foundation.

This position requires strong communication skills, initiative, and a sense of humor, as no two weeks are the same. This includes collaborating with the Legacy Foundation Board of Directors and the full OSNS team to identify priorities as you will be representing the Legacy Foundation and the OSNS at community events, along with raising awareness and education, and speaking to various groups/individual about the services OSNS provides.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Community & Donor Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, community partners, and business supporters

  • Develop and implement donor engagement, stewardship, and recognition strategies

  • Increase awareness of OSNS programs, services, and impact within the community

  • Lead tours, presentations, and outreach opportunities for supporters and partners

  • Support and grow volunteer engagement initiatives

  • Overall strategy and execution of all OSNS signature events, and provide high quality guest experiences

  • Includes all aspects of event administration, including planning / executing event logistics

  • coordinating vendors, volunteers, committees and / or staff; event software management; photography as needed; event promotion; sponsor /donor outreach & recognition; and event analysis

 

Fundraising & Events

  • Lead the planning and execution of all fundraising initiatives and campaigns

  • Manage OSNS signature events from concept to completion, including logistics, vendors, sponsorship, and evaluation

  • Support third-party fundraising events and community-led initiatives

  • Identify and develop new revenue opportunities to support organizational sustainability

  • Collaborate on grant applications and funding proposals

 

Marketing & Communications

  • Collaborate internally to develop engaging content across digital and print platforms (social media, website, newsletters, campaigns, brochures)

  • Coordinate media relations, including press releases, interviews, and event promotion

  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging aligned with OSNS values and strategy

  • Collaborate internally on the creation of marketing materials, reports, and promotional materials

 

OSNS Legacy Foundation & Internal Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the OSNS Legacy Foundation Board to support fundraising priorities and donor strategies

  • Prepare board meeting materials, reports, and communications

  • Work in collaboration with the Foundation Board Chair to identify, cultivate and strategize communication plan to engage new potential donors

  • Support donor cultivation and engagement for the Foundation’s endowment growth

  • Oversee donor database management, including tracking, reporting, and tax receipting

  • Contribute to Foundation materials such as annual reports, proposals, and communications

 

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in marketing or communications preferred

  • Nonprofit Management & Foundation administration an asset

  • 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, event management, or community engagement

  • Experience planning and delivering medium to large-scale events

  • Knowledge of ethical fundraising practises, including principles reflected in the AFP Code of Ethical Standards is an asset (Association of Fundraising Professionals Code of Ethical Standards)

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills

  • Strong public speaking and presentation abilities

  • Strategic thinker with strong organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to organize priorities in a dynamic environment

  • Proficiency in social media platforms, digital communications, and Microsoft Office tools

  • Experience with design tools and web content management is an asset

  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Experience working in a pediatric setting is considered an asset

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for events and community engagement

  • Project participation and or lead role in program related projects

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

JOB SUMMARY

The Community Event & Administrative Support will be a dynamic team player who loves to interact with children, families, businesses, community partners, staff, and board members. Someone who loves creating and carrying out engaging events that bring people-families community and stakeholders together. Collaboration, partnering and excellent teamwork skills are a must. The ability to shift quickly between priorities and bring ideas to life, while meeting multiple deadlines is essential. This role demands an entrepreneurial individual with a high level of empathy and intrinsic motivation.

Every week of work will be different, and you will be enthusiastic, solution focused with a sense of humour. Flexibility, curiosity and creativity are key given the ever-evolving nature of our pediatrics and childcare environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Engage partners, businesses, and the broader community.

  • Support and/or lead new and existing fundraising opportunities and community initiatives, including event setup and cleanup, volunteer and participant coordination, advertising needs assessments, ticket sales tracking, and troubleshooting.

  • Work collaboratively with the team to facilitate events and support the Centre’s day-to-day administrative operations.

  • Identify opportunities to communicate with key audiences and networks, including developing strategies and leading their execution.

  • Create stories and content for both print and digital media.

  • Support website updates and design.

  • Support grant writing and submission processes

  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • Ability to work independently and resolve administrative support challenges both internally and externally.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the Autism Intervention Program Supervisor and the Early Intervention Program Supervisor, the BCBA will be a member of the Autism Intervention Program and the Early Intervention Program clinical multidisciplinary teams, providing services to children, youth and their families. The BCBA assesses skills in cognition, play, safety, and behaviours and provides consultation, intervention and ongoing monitoring of goals and progress in these areas.   The BCBA will be expected to also plan, facilitate, and support group-based therapy programs for children and youth and parents/caregivers.  

  

 RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES 

  • Assess skills in the areas of play, cognition, safety, and behaviours and contribute to the individualized intervention plan. 

  • Provide goals, intervention, and ongoing monitoring of goals and progress in these areas  

  • Ensures data being taken by behaviour interventionists is appropriate and consistent with goals  

  • Provide staff support and training as required  

  • Create, implement and support planning with BIs, clinicians and families 

  • On-site, school visits, community outreach and home visits are all an essential part of this role  

  • Collaboration and maintaining positive professional relationships internally and in the community  

  • Other related duties as required  

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES   

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including behaviour interventionists, speech language, physio and occupational therapists  

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills  

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Experience in pediatric rehabilitation is beneficial; however, other applicants would be strongly considered given the supportive team you would be joining.

  • Ability to assess clients’ needs and identify a range of intervention options.

  • Ability to provide direct intervention and consultation following evidence-based practices for pediatric clients with a variety of developmental concerns.

  • Ability to maintain communication with clients and caregivers to foster optimal progress and establish supportive, collaborative, and therapeutic relationships.

Seeking ‘Casual on Call’ Early Childhood Educators, ECE Assistants, and Responsible Adults  

Status: Casual – On Call 

Hours of Work: Varies, as needed - Monday-Friday  

Location: Penticton 

Wage: $27.06 - $28.70 per hour (as per HSA Community wage grid - depending on qualifications – casuals with their full ECE also qualify for an additional wage enhancement grant of $4.00 per hour)

We are passionate about early childhood education and provide interesting, safe play environments that allow children to be curious, share ideas, and explore. The casual staff covers regular staff when they are absent. They assist with the supervision of children during play indoors & out, during daily routines such as eating, resting, personal care & hygiene as well as help with the setup and cleaning of program environments. As a casual staff, you can set parameters of when you are available for callouts and can accept or decline shifts offered as they fit into your schedule. 

 

We are looking for Early Childhood Educators, Early Childhood Education Assistants, and Responsible Adults to join our on-call casual list for our ECE programs.  

 QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Certified ECE or ECEA or Responsible Adults with relevant experiences 

  • Current First Aid certificate 

  • Experience working in a childcare/preschool setting 

  • Professional references related to work with children 

  • Willingness to learn and reflect OSNS Mission, Vision, and Values 

  • Flexibility and willingness to work in any of our ECE programs, for a variety of shifts on call, as needed, from 2 to 8.5 hours in length between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays Monday - Friday 

  • Ability to provide an acceptable criminal record check 

  • Willingness to follow current Centre health and safety guidelines regarding wellness checks, wearing masks & vaccinations.
