OSNS DEIW Committee
Our OSNS mission statement is to optimize the health and well-being of every child, youth, and family we serve. As well, one of our values is diversity. To align with this, a new initiative we have taken was to start a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Health & Wellness Committee. This committee has been started to ensure that we are meeting these values for not only the children and families we serve but also for our staff.
At OSNS:
Diversity means that we support a setting that includes those with differences in race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, socioeconomic class, and physical or cognitive abilities.
Equity is ensuring that practices and programs are impartial and fair, and provide equal possible outcomes for every individual.
Inclusion is the practice of ensuring that people feel a sense of belonging in the workplace. Every employee feels comfortable and supported by the organization to be their authentic selves.
Well-being is the state of having a balanced interdependence of your mental, physical, social, financial, spiritual, environmental, and vocational dimensions.
Pride Month- June
The OSNS DEIW Committee unveiled a new hallway sign "A Multitude of Colours: Celebrating the Many Pride Flags" to acknowledge June Pride Month. We invite everyone to join us in recognizing and celebrating the beautiful diversity that makes our community stronger.
