37 Children Screened

37 Children were screened in our KinderPlace Preschool Program last week. Our physiotherapists and occupational therapists conducted the screening of the children over two days. A screening was done of fine and visual motor skills. Skills looked at included cutting, drawing, and building with blocks as well as grasping items like beads, pencils and scissors. If any children are noted to have difficulties, parents are provided with handouts and their children are offered a spot in upcoming groups where they can develop skills with their peers in a fun, play-based setting.

Also, a grade 11 student from Pen-High observed the screenings as she is thinking of a career in occupational therapy.
